Amazing creatures of the deep. We love it! |
Similar to the boat we traveled on. |
Had an awesome trip today on a motorized catamaran boat out of Bar Harbor, Maine. We were able to see four humpbacked wales. The trip lasted about 4 hours with one hour in and one hour out, about 22 miles off the shore of Bar Harbor. The seas were calm and the day beautiful. Cooler on the water, so a jacket was needed after we were out there. Definitely worth the trip. I can strike this one from our Bucket List,...perfect day to go whale watching. Bar Harbor Maine is definitely an awesome place to visit. We have a few more days here and hope to catch the Bass Harbor Lighthouse and more beautiful scenery of Acadia. This is an amazing place of beauty.
Before we left the port, I caught my favorite lobster. He is cute, 62 years old and on Social Security. What a catch of 17 years. Not bad for an aging nurse.
Bye, bye Bar Harbor. |
On our way out. They have many little islands here. |
Lighthouse off shore. |
Whale siting with spouts. |
Another big spout. |
Half fin diving. Amazing feeding beasts of the seas. |
Tail end up, large humpbacked whales in water. |
Dive down for food. |
Going down. |
Going under for about 10-20 minutes to feed. |
Another fin show. |
Catch the wave of a humpback whale and dolphins around. |
Huge creatures of the deep. |
Three, caught here, just resting till they dive for more food. |
Coming back into port. The hills of Acadia. Wow. |
The sand bar of Bar Harbor which is land at low tide. Amazing. |
