Lewes Delaware

Went to Lewes, Delaware the first town in the first state of these United States. Saw the Lewes Ferry which takes small and large vehicles across the Delaware Bay. We were debating going by Ferry with our RV, so we scoped it out. We then went to the small town of Lewes and looked at the shops and history. Nice relaxing day with weather in the 80's.

Delaware

We arrived at the McQuate's house on Shady Lane. Gary helped us back our home on wheels into his driveway. Ahh, all the comforts of home. Their house is awesome! Chris and Gary made us feel right at home and even taught me about crabs and how to prepare them. Then of course we ate them,...mmm.

Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and Virginia Landing

Today we drove to Virginia Landing via the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/tunnel. Wow, around 17 miles of bridge and two tunnels under water.

The bridge ends and tunnel begins, so ships can go over tunnel. Phenomenal design and architecture.

We camped in Virginia Landing a Passport America campground that is on the Chesapeake Bay. The road going in was single lane and about 7 miles. We thought we were lost! The campground was nice, the pool was a quarter mile from the campground, but it was nice and cold so I could not resist taking a dip.

Elwin and I went golfing today at Chockoyotte Country Club about  2 miles from our campground.

Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina

Arrived in Roanoke Rapids, NC to The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads. Really nice place. Has pool, hot  tub, pull-thru sites and a lovely park for Kahlua to play Frisbee in. I think we will stay here the weekend of Father's Day. It is time for some laundry, shopping and possibly Golf. Elwin will be watching it on TV this weekend. We are one day's travel away from Delaware, and hope to visit our great neighbors Gary and Chris come Tuesday.

Jubilee is 8 and totally exhausted with her anxiety on the road.

Lots of amenities, the royal suite for RVing! A bit of rain, no problem, RV wash by God.  Loving it!

On Thursday 12 June 2014 We stayed one night in a great Passport America park in Dillon, SC.

Nice grassy spot with full hook-ups! Awesome.

Beaufort, South Carolina

June 10-13, 2014
Arrived in  Beaufort to visit our good friends from Outdoor Resorts in Melbourne Beach, Dee and Ralph Huylar. They were so gracious to allow us to hook up next to their house.

Tuesday afternoon we visited Hunter Island Campground and Lighthouse. The beaches are beautiful here, and the breeze was heavenly. It is very hot in SC this time of year. I am hot flashing in overtime mode.

On Wednesday we went into the historic town of Beaufort for a horse and carriage tour.

Beautiful gardens and flowers, love the colors.

They have beautiful swings overlooking the channel in downtown Beaufort.

Our horse was Jim a 6 year old beauty.

The original Baptist Church of the slaves here, and also where Forrest Gump was filmed in the church scene.

Mermaids are part of the folklore and history here.

We enjoyed Dee's fabulous gourmet cooking every evening for dinner, and watched the wildlife in their backyard.  What a fabulous stay. We are so blessed to have friends like this. Thank you Ralph and Dee.

Golden Isles Campground, Georgia

Not fancy, but home is where we park it.

Got the house closed down and took an easy 4 hour drive to Golden Isles Campground near Brunswick, Georgia. They are close to the highway and had pull-thru sites, so we did not have to unhook the car. They were Passport America, so for $19 for the night,and full hook-up with a pool, we have no complaints.
